(WTVF) — Time is running out for Americans to get a $1,200 stimulus check to help make ends meet during the pandemic.
The Internal Revenue Service (IRS) says there’s still around 9 million people who are missing that check, and the deadline is Saturday.
If you did file a tax return in 2018 and 2019, you would have received a direct payment of $1,200 as part of the CARES Act. The IRS says about 160 million payments have been issued, so far.
However, people who didn’t file tax return those years are still waiting for their money. They say all you have to do is apply on their website and register by 2 p.m. CT.
Many Americans were hoping for another round of stimulus checks. So far, Congress has not been able to agree on another relief bill.
