Well, winter is here early this year. And after such a nice day Saturday, too.

The National Weather Service Detroit/Pontiac issued a winter weather advisory until 8 p.m. Sunday. Snow accumulations could total 2 to 4 inches and have “high intensity.” Light rain is expected after 2 p.m.

NWS warns roads conditions will be slippery and it will be hard to see, making traveling difficult throughout the day. Driving surfaces will be slick from St. Clair in Macomb County to Detroit in Wayne County. Counties in the west and north of southeast Michigan will see more snow.

Temperatures will hover from the low to mid 30s.

Wayne County, predicted to be around 35 degress for the day, is facing fog and mist.

The county will see snow before 2 p.m., and then snow and rain. Tonight, NWS predicts a low of 31 and cloudy.

Metro Detroit will see snow before noon with a high near 38. There’s a chance of rain and snow before 7 p.m. and mostly cloudy with a low around 32.

Luckily, Monday may bring some partly sunny skies with a high near 43.
