FILLED: No Lee County COVID-19 vaccine appointments left – NBC2 News

LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The 1,800 new appointments available this week for COVID-19 vaccines through Lee County filled in just a few minutes.

The reservation opened at 12 p.m. on Wednesday January 13. Reservation slots were expected to fill quickly.

The toll-free number to call was new after the state’s vendor made upgrades to the system.

The new number was 866-200-3468. The call line did NOT open until noon Wednesday, the county claimed. Several viewers contacted us stating when they called right at noon, they were told all appointments were available. Others said they were asked to enter a code, which was not provided by the county.

A number of people said they started calling just before noon, which the county advised not to do, but they were told appointments had already been filled starting at 11:45 a.m.

A TTY (Telecommunications Device for the Deaf) line was available for those who are hearing impaired: 787-522-5904.

The appointments are scheduled for Thursday, Jan 14 and Friday, Jan 15 at the site near Southwest Florida International Airport, and only people who manage to make appointments will be vaccinated.

Seniors 65 years and older and healthcare workers are eligible to receive the vaccine.

There will be no more vaccine appointments for the remainder of the week.

FDOH in Lee County is waiting for information on when and how much vaccine will be available next week.

The vaccination site is located east of I-75 off Daniels Parkway.
