LEE COUNTY, Fla. – The Florida Department of Health in Lee County announced Tuesday that there is enough vaccine supply to schedule 1,800 new appointments this week.
The reservation line will open at 12 p.m. on Wednesday January 13. Reservation slots are expected to be filled within minutes.
The toll-free number to call is new after the state’s vendor made upgrades to the system.
The new number is 866-200-3468. The call line will NOT open until noon Wednesday, officials stressed.
The appointments will be scheduled for Thursday, Jan 14 and Friday, Jan 15 at the site near Southwest Florida International Airport, and only people who manage to make appointments will be vaccinated.
Seniors 65 years and older and healthcare workers will be eligible to receive the vaccine.
After the additional 1,800 shots are scheduled there will be no more vaccine supply remaining for this week, officials with the FDOH-Lee said.
FDOH in Lee County is waiting for information on when and how much vaccine will be available next week.
The vaccination site is located east of I-75 off Daniels Parkway.
