It’s another cold, cloudy and snowy day for us. Winds will continue to be out of the north. Current wind speeds range from about 5 – 15 mph. Due to cold daytime highs in the low teens and the wind, wind chill values are below zero for much of the area again. The southern tier has feel-like temperatures in the single digits. Snow showers started to move into the area earlier this morning and continue into the afternoon. These snow showers will be scattered and very light, but will give us minor accumulation. By later in the evening and night, the snow will have come to an end. Lows will be in the single digits, with wind chill values of -5 to -10.
We will also have the chance for light scattered snow showers on Thursday. However, recent models are showing this next system not as potent as before. Possibly loosing out on moisture and forcing. Therefore, the snow forecast may need to be tweaked and lowered.
