News I-40 West reopens in Wilson County after semi jackknifes Laken Bowles – NewsChannel5.com

LEBANON, Tenn. (WTVF) — Freezing rain and sleet have caused hazardous travel conditions across Tennessee, leading to ice-related crashes.

A multi-vehicle crash blocked westbound lanes of Interstate 40 near Spence Lane for about two hours, but it has since cleared.

Earlier in the day, a portion of Interstate 40 West was closed in Wilson County after a tractor trailer jackknifed, just east of Lebanon. Westbound lanes were closed for about 90 minutes but have since reopened.

The Tennessee Highway Patrol said even though the interstate has reopened, road conditions remain “icy.”

Mt. Juliet police issued a warning to drivers, saying roadways were hazardous. More wintry weather is expected this afternoon.

In Maury County, a semi plowed through a guardrail on I-65 at mile marker 43. Troopers said the driver was not hurt.
