Tom Cruise texts James Corden to ask if he can land helicopter in his yard – Daily Mail

Tom Cruise has been trying to land his helicopter all over the place, it would seem.

Having touched down in a fan’s back garden while in the UK earlier this month, Tom also tried to do the same to James Corden.

The British TV host, who lives in Los Angeles but was visiting his family in London over the summer, shared texts during his chat show that action star Tom sent him a few weeks ago.

Talking to his Late Late Show audience, James showed them messages in which he asked Tom if he fancied meeting up while they were both in the UK – Tom being there to film Mission: Impossible 7.

‘I’m in London until mid August, filming a new show. Let me know if you wanna grab a green juice x x x,’ James asked Tom.

‘What? You are here? We gotta find some time to grab some dinner. Are you at Coworth? I can land my Heli there!’ was Tom’s response.

‘Here till august. Staying in St Johns Wood. Would love to see you x,’ James replied.

James replied with a string of laughing emojis.

‘Does this mean no?’ Tom replied.

‘I’ll measure it out, but my hunch is you can’t land a helicopter in St Johns Wood,’ came James’ answer.

To which Tom said: ‘You’d be surprised where I can land!’

Tom shocked a delighted family last week by landing in their garden with little warning.

The 59-year-old actor descended into Alison Webb’s Warwickshire garden, after she was told an unnamed VIP needed somewhere to land as a result of Coventry Airport being temporarily closed.

Not only did the three-time Golden Globe winner pose for pictures, he gave a ride in his helicopter – for free – to Alison’s children and their friends.

At present, the star is filming at Birmingham’s Grand Central with co-star Hayley Atwell.

Alison was informed that her field was required for a helicopter to land for an ‘unnamed VIP who was running late’, as the nearby airport was temporarily closed.

In a BBC report, Alison revealed: ‘I thought it would be kind of cool for the kids to see the helicopter land in the garden.

‘He [Tom Cruise] basically arrived and got out and it was like “Wow”.’

‘He went straight over to the children for a chat, then came over and elbow bumped us and said thank you very much.’

Alison described the day as ‘incredible’ and ‘surreal’, whilst struggling to believe it happened.

He scoffed not one but two Chicken Tikka Masalas costing £19.45 each amid shooting the upcoming Mission: Impossible 7 in Birmingham.

The actor took to Newhall Street in the ‘city of a thousand trades’ where he spent two hours at the Indian restaurant Asha’s, before leaving staff a generous £60 tip.

A socially distanced snap taken by his own security guard showed the Top Gun star donning a navy knitted sweater, which he combined with a pair of jeans.

Currying good favour: Employees of the business soon took to the Asha's Twitter page to share the exciting news of having a served up their grub to a Hollywood A-Lister

With a matching jacket in-hand, Tom grinned alongside three suited-and-booted members of staff from the eatery.

‘It was an absolute pleasure to welcome Tom Cruise to Asha’s Birmingham yesterday evening,’ they began.

‘Tom ordered our famous Chicken Tikka Masala and enjoyed it so much that as soon as he had finished, he ordered it all over again – The greatest compliment.’

Mission: Impossible 7 is set to be released on May 27th, 2022.
