First snowfall of the season possible in central Pa. this week – pennlive.com

A string of chilly days in the midstate could usher in the first snow of the season Friday, forecasters said.

As of Wednesday morning, Friday has a 30% chance of snow before 7 a.m., according to the National Weather Service. Forecasters said the rest of the day will be sunny but windy, with highs in the low 40s and a chance of nearly 30 mph winds.

Before all of that, Wednesday will be sunny with highs in the mid 40s, forecasters said.

Forecasters said Thanksgiving could slightly warmer, with up to mid 50-degree highs.

Early weekend forecasts call for low 40-degree temperatures Saturday and Sunday, and below-freezing overnight lows.
