Snow is tapering off across Long Island and total of 4 to 8 inches is expected to be left behind.

WHAT’S NEW – Icy dangerous roads this morning. Snow tapers west to east at 9 a.m. in Nassau to noon near Montauk. 

WHAT’S NEXT –  Cold Saturday. Warmer Sunday with rain showers developing.

TODAY: Morning moderate to heavy snow. Cold. Icy roads. Sun and clouds, breezy. Highs near 35. Snow totals 4 to 8 inches with some areas near 8 inches.

TONIGHT: Clear and Cold. Lows near 20. Wind chills 8 to 15 degrees.

SATURDAY: Sunny and Cold. Highs near 32.

SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy. Scattered showers. Highs 40 to 45.

SUNDAY NIGHT: Cloudy. Rain showers end as some snow showers. Lows 25 to 30.
